Daligig Characters

Some Daligig characters for the bit after Lirath and for other stuff as well. Both their “facade” personalities and real personalities will be included in the descriptions.

Archon Yavek: A Daligig military officer, Yavek holds the rank of Archon, equivalent to a Lt. Colonel, and thus is responsible for a whole battalion of Daligig forces, comprised mostly of Kessek soldiers. After Lirath, he and his men will appear and take command of the ship while Stacy is undergoing repairs. Under his facade, he appears to be little more than a dedicated and strict commander, focused solely on completing his mission. He will often give harsh orders, and his subordinates will explain it away as him meaning well. He always appears serious, without ever cracking a smile or showing any real mood other than a strict sense of duty. The reality behind Yavek, as with most Daligig, is quite different. Like many Daligig, he desperately wishes to claw his way to the top, and as such demands absolute perfection from his subordinates. Yavek is an unflinchingly cold and cruel commander, looking for the slightest slip-up from any of his subordinates so he can do what he does best: punishment. He seems to enjoy coming up with new ways to discipline his troops, though vivisection remains one of his favorites. Even those few subordinates who please him are little more than useful tools to be discarded when the time is right. He will view his time aboard Stacy as yet another chance to gain further power, and will brook no disobedience from them.

Archite Rekkti: Rekkti is Yavek's second in command, holding a position equivalent to a Major, and is the only subordinate Yavek regards as anything more than a mildly useful tool. Her facade is that of a serious yet outgoing and personable soldier. She brooks no disrespect, and make sure all of the soldiers around her are following orders, but otherwise appears very easy to get along with. She will likely be one of the few Daligig, if any, who will manage to gain some of the crew's trust. Her true personality, however, is much different from her facade. She is a cold and almost completely emotionless killer, forged as such from years of serving under Yavek's strict command. The troops that serve under her are marshaled with machine-like proficiency. In battle, she shows no mercy and no remorse, instead ensuring that every order is fulfilled with the absolute utmost efficiency. Whether she escapes Yavek's punishment because of her skill, or if she developed such skill in order to escape his ire, no one knows.

Logistics Officer Mirvee: Appearing as a rather naïve and sweet young man, Mirvee is responsible for the supplies and communications for Yavek's battalion. To those who know only of his facade personality, it seems like a miracle someone as timid and weak as Mirvee could survive in a battalion led by such a tough commander as Yavek. He seems completely shy, and rarely speaks anything above a whisper save to Yavek or Rekkti. Despite this, he seems personable and easy to get along with. This is, of course, before one learns of his true nature. Mirvee is actually an accomplished Manipulator, a position kept by at least one individual in each Daligig combat unit, kept secret from everyone outside the Daligig themselves. As a Manipulator, Mirvee has honed his psychic abilities to be more empathic, using these abilities to subtly read the emotions of anyone the Daligig interact with, and using this to, as the name suggests, manipulate them. Like most Manipulators, he has chosen a particularly harmless-seeming facade personality to better allow him to lower his targets' defenses. He gets an almost sick pleasure from his work, as he particularly enjoys tearing apart his targets' defenses without them even knowing it.

Force Captain Hukkar: Not a Daligig, but rather one of the lead Kessek soldiers under Yavek's command. Like all Kessek, he has no clue about the Daligig's true nature, having been subtly indoctrinated into believing their righteousness like the rest of his people. A member of one of the noble Warrior Houses of the Kessek—in his case, House Makal—he is viewed as something of a knight among his people. As such, he always carries himself with an air of dignity and honor, and he is honest to a fault. As is traditional in House Makal, he eschews ranged weaponry in battle, instead relying on the Kessek's famous kinetic barriers and kinetic weaponry. While his men rely on standard issue plasma weaponry, Hukkar uses a kinetic barrier to make his way towards the enemy, where he can utilize the barrier's control of kinetic forces to give him enhanced strength and jumping capability, and uses a kinetic battle-staff as his preferred weapon, making him a dangerous foe on the battlefield. He genuinely believes the Daligig are good people, but only because he has been essentially brainwashed into believing so.

Military Heirarch Samil: Samil is a member of the Daligig Council of Heirarchs, and is the one in charge of all Daligig military assets. In his facade, he appears to be a calm, cool-headed, and fair commander who has garnered the respect and love of his subordinates. He portrays himself as a brilliant strategist and commander, and this is of course completely true. However, beneath his facade is a man of unspeakable ambition. He will stop at nothing to gain more power, and views the Daligig's connection with It as just another way for him to rise further. Like all Daligig of sufficient rank, he seeks to have himself be the one to receive the power promised as the end result of Project Godhead, and he has been constantly plotting ways to ensure he succeeds.

Civilian Heirarch Qweet: Qweet holds the technical title of Civilian Heirarch, a title used to fool outsiders into believing he is responsible for civilian matters among the Daligig. In truth, he holds the real title of Research Heirarch, and is responsible for all of the numerous plots and projects the Daligig work on at the behest of It, with Project Godhead at the forefront. Given the intense attention required of his position, he never interacts with outsiders, and thus has no need for a facade personality, instead letting his subordinates deal with anyone attempting to speak with him. He is completely and utterly consumed by his work. Unlike most Daligig, he doesn't really care about the power he could gain as a result of Project Godhead, instead viewing it and the Ohm war as yet another way to continue his research at the expense of countless innocent lives.

General Heirarch Zaln: Holding the title of General Heirarch, which is explained to outsiders as being there to act as a balancing force between the Civilian and Military Heirarchs, Zaln actually is the highest authority among the Daligig. Even the other Heirarchs answer to him. While he appears to be the most rational voice among the Heirarchs towards outsiders, Zaln is in truth exceedingly arrogant. He views other beings, including fellow Daligig, as insects beneath his notice, only putting up a facade to further his own goals. He feels absolutely no doubt that it will be he who receives the power granted by Project Godhead, and is the one who deals most closely with Nemo. Neither of these two men trusts the other, but while Zaln believes himself secure in his superiority, Nemo knows that it is himself who really calls the shots.
